Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Suling enjoyed a care-free island lifestyle in paradise. She then attended the University of Pennsylvania where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in Design of the Environment and a B.S.E. in Civil Engineering. Post-graduation, she chose to pursue her passion in design, eventually becoming a licensed architect (State of Hawaii).
Her journey in the architecture and interior design industry began in 2000, and she has worked for prestigious design firms in San Francisco, Honolulu, and Singapore. She has worked on a range of project types in California, Hawaii, Singapore, China, Indonesia, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia.
While based in Honolulu and later Singapore, she began to focus primarily on luxury hotels and resorts as Senior Associate and Senior Project Designer at WATG, Associate Director at Blink Design Group, and Design Manager for InterContinental Hotels Group.
Now located in Napa, California, Suling enjoys focusing on projects in detail and developing timeless and pragmatic design solutions. She brings the culture of hospitality into all aspects of her work by elevating experiences through design, establishing a sense of identity in each project, and bringing joy to the design process.
